Frequently asked questions

How much do you charge?

Our house call and exam fee is $115.00. This includes the trip to your house by a veterinarian with assistant, if needed, and an examination with discussion of any concerns. We plan on spending 45 minutes to an hour with each new pet. An additional pet can be seen for $50.00 at the same visit. Vaccines, diagnostic procedures, and medications or treatments all have their own prices. Please contact us if you would like an estimate.

How far do you travel?

We are based in Sunbury, Ohio and travel to many other communities: Galena, Westerville, Johnstown, New Albany, Centerburg, Marengo, Mt. Gilead, Ashley, Delaware, Lewis Center, Powell, and Worthington are just a few. Included in the house call fee is a 30 minute trip from our home base in Sunbury. More specifics about our travel area are on the home page.

What things can you do for my pets at my house?

Of course we do well pet and preventative care (vaccine) visits, but we also see patients with many other needs and concerns:

  • Dermatologic disease (skin and ears)
  • Masses - lumps and bumps
  • Gastrointestinal (stomach/intestinal) disease
  • Urinary problems
  • Endocrine disease
  • Blood work, blood pressure, fecal, heartworm, and FeLV/FIV testing
  • Microchipping
  • Euthanasia

What are you not able to do at my house?

We don't do surgery or radiographs (x-rays) at your house. We also don't do ultrasounds or hospitalize patients at home. Patients with those needs can have procedures performed at Cryan Veterinary Hospital in Westerville or Delaware Northwest Veterinary Clinic in Delaware, both highly skilled local veterinary hospitals. Cryan can be reached at 614-882-4184. Delaware Northwest can be reached at 740-971-0230. We also support care from other local veterinary clinics and hospitals if you have an established relationship elsewhere.

What pets do you see?

  • Dogs
  • Cats
  • Poultry (chickens, turkeys, ducks, and geese)
  • Certain Pocket Pets. Feel free to ask!
